An elevator inside the house

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

My husband informs me that the ongoing construction of our building is almost complete. Actually, this building is owned by my parents-in-law and was transferred to us when they past away. As the sole heir of his parents, he receives this property along with a huge amount of money.
We decided to renovate the whole building because we want to put additional floor level. On the first floor, commercial spaces are already rented while the whole second floor serves as residence and office of my late in-laws. We thought of expanding the commercial spaces on the second floor and the proposed third floor for additional income to us. To go up to the second floor, they need to use a stair that I find to be tiring, what more when someone need to go up to the third floor? I suggested having an elevator in the building aside from the original stair they use before so that tenant and their customers can easily go up and down on their purpose floor level. The contractor showed us the selection of elevators to choose from at the Internet. I was impressed on the freedom elevators featured at the site, however, I do not think it is advisable to use for a commercial building. Instead, they put a wheelchair lifts to be use by the patient of our incoming doctor tenant that will be occupying the second floor.
After the construction of the building, our next project is the renovation of our own house. It was an old model bungalow type of house. My husband decided to have a second floor that will be divided into three bedrooms. I remember the home elevators showed to us by the contractor so I asked my husband to have this dumbwaiters a kind of elevator in our house.
